Local TV Stations and Advertisers Using Internet Broadcasting Products See Record Web Traffic in July and August

St. Paul, MN (PRWEB) September 24, 2007 -- Internet Broadcasting (IB), a leading Internet company enabling local publishers and advertisers to reach in-market consumers, today announced its TV station Web site and advertising customers experienced two consecutive record traffic months in July and August. IB sites saw 16.7 million visitors in August, preceded by 15.8 million visitors in July, according to Nielsen//NetRatings. These records top the previous high of 15.4 million visitors set in February 2007. Additionally, July marked the first time IB's station sites surpassed a half-billion monthly pageviews.

TV stations using IB products were the number one station Web site in 17 of the nation's top 25 markets in terms of visitors in August. Number one sites included: Boston's ABC affiliate WCVB (TheBostonChannel.com), Dallas' NBC affiliate KXAS (NBC5i.com), and Detroit's NBC affiliate WDIV (ClickonDetroit.com), according to Nielsen//NetRatings. In all, 30 station sites set visitor records during the month, according to WebTrends.

"This record shows how Web users really value relevant, local content," said Internet Broadcasting President & CEO David Lebow. "Stations using IB products tend to be number one in their market because they satisfy consumers' need for this information. Advertisers win by effectively reaching local consumers through market winners."

The record traffic was driven by weather events and IB's content distribution strategy, such as its content-sharing alliance with CNN.com. IB provides local Web publishers with tools and content that gives consumers relevant information, while enabling advertisers to reach local audiences.

Visitor and pageview numbers represent an aggregate total among Internet Broadcasting's network of more than 70 TV station Web sites.
