Many business owners and internet marketing professionals are looking for the fastest way to increase page rank. In may respects this is the quest for the holy grail of internet marketing. For those who may not know, page rank is a number assigned by Google according to their secret algorithm that is believed to be highly relevant to how high a page is placed in the search results. I am here to tell you that the page rank number you can see is certainly not everything when it comes to the ranking in search results.
In order to see the page rank of a particular web page you must either use a web browser that can display page rank data or go to a site where you can enter the url of a page and get it's page rank. The problem is that the number you see is always out of date and reflects the last time the public display of the page rank algorithm was updated. There can be a lag of many months since the last update. So in truth the page rank as used by Google is not accurately reflected in the numbers you can see in many cases.
Google ranks its pages in search results and the single most visible aspect we have to understand how this ranking is done is the page rank. One needs to remember; I have mentioned Google ranks pages, not sites. Each page is to be considered individually, while choosing sites to look up search results, but to some extent, there seems to be a link between the page rank and the reputation of the site itself. The links the site gives and the page ranks of those will affect the page rank of a page to some extent.
Page rank is very similar to a popularity contest on the internet, and it is possible to increase your own page rank. It is maintained that page rank is based on the popularity of the pages that link to you and on the number of links to your page. By having more links that are popular and a high number of links on your site, you can increase your own page rank rapidly. Basically meaning that, by having already high ranking pages and more pages linked to your site will, the page rank of your own page will increase dramatically.
You can increase the page ranking on your web site quickly. What you need to do is to get other people with good sites to link to your page. You can make agreements with other sites to do reciprocal linking, you can write comments on people's blogs and include a link to your website, and you can publish articles that contain your site's url.
